Paul specializes in couples and marriage counselling. He is trained in Imago Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Couples Therapy as well as a number of less known approaches. Qualification as a Registered Psychotherapist enables him to offer additional depth to couples counselling that moves beyond mere technique to reach the underlying issues that get in the way of happy satisfying relationships.
Paul’s basic philosophy is that for most people, happiness and well-being are directly related to a harmonious relationship with a partner. However, at some stage, most couples experience challenge to this harmony and their relationships can feel stuck and unsatisfying. Paul offers a depth approach to understanding what is going wrong and provides the relationship tools to repair connection and build relationship potential often beyond that which brought the couple together originally.
Paul has a background as a medical technologist and also many years in business. Paul is married, has two adult children and grandchildren. This life experience enables him to understand the pressures clients face both in family life and work or business and he is able to offer a practical approach which acknowledges such day to day life challenges.
